(In response to the question, “Could you tell us about Hazrat Ali’s (r.a) heroism at Haybar?”)
They think of Muslims as people who kill and slaughter. Yet Hazrat Ali (r.a) was very loving and compassionate, he was sweet and enjoyed a joke. In other words, there was much that was very attractive about him. He loved women and beauty. Our Muslim brothers always ask how he broke the gate down, how he killed people, how many people he killed and that kind of thing. Masha’Allah, may Allah have mercy on my forbearance. That was also a religious observance, of course. He did it for Allah’s approval. But why are people not so curious about his other qualities? That, I do not understand.
Our brothers from overseas always want to come here. Great, but it will cost the earth for you to get here. And the earth to get back again. It will cost the earth to stay in a hotel. What is the best thing for Allah’s approval? If I had money, I would buy books and hand them out. One by one. It is a great service to be instrumental in someone coming to faith. I could go on the hajj and the umrah and spend a month there. I could go to Konya and stay a month there. I could spend a month traveling around to my relatives. Couldn’t I? Of course, I could. It would cost the earth. I could go on the umrah very often. I am well aware of all these things. I could also go abroad. The Muslims there are doing that. I could go to South Africa, on the pretext of holding a conference there. People are always inviting me and begging me to go. But that would cost billions of Turkish liras. Is it better to spend my money on that, or on handing out books? Of course, it is better to spend it on handing out books. They always wanted to come and visit Bediüzzaman in his day, but Bediüzzaman would say, “If you love me, then read my books.” “If you want to speak with me, read my books.” If you read my books, you have spoken to me, he says. If you want to benefit from his prayers, our prayers are all the same. So what else?
When the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) was taken into the sky, we are told he ascended “....before the eyes of his followers.” There is no question of that. When they entered the chamber they could not see the Prophet Jesus (pbuh), and that is how he was taken into the sky. Allah turned him into light in a moment, and he passed over into the fourth dimension. Human beings have that property. It happens when Allah wishes. They become light and pass to the fourth dimension. The Prophet Jesus (pbuh) is now in the fourth dimension. I say this so people can understand. And he will suddenly be taken back to the third dimension. That is the truth of it. Of course, Allah will adorn him when he comes. He will send down angels and much glory. His descent will be fine, with the prayers of the angels.
One portent of the Prophet Jesus’ (pbuh) coming is that he conceals himself despite having appeared. For example, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) can be recognized from the portents, but the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) will give no sign when he comes. It is very, very secret. Because if a bigot were to see the Prophet Jesus (pbuh), what would he say? He would be disrespectful. Or if an ignorant Christian sees him? He would be disrespectful. Because he will demand belief in the Trinity from him, may Allah forbid. He will want him to say that he is Allah. But he will say; “Lailahe illallah MuhammedenResullullah (There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah).” And what will they try and do then, may Allah forbid? They will try to martyr him. What will they do if he says, “Lailahe illallah MuhammedenResullullah, I am the Prophet Jesus “? You know, they burned a house full of people in America. But the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) will not let anyone behave in such a way. He is a very rational person.
(About ashure [a sweet dish made of cereals and dried fruits])
On the final day, when the Prophet Noah’s (pbuh) ark came to rest on Mount Judi, there was nothing left to eat, because they had been at sea for a long time. They went to the stores and there was nothing there; just a bit of barley, a bit of wheat, a few lentils, and some fruit, apricots and raisins, down at the bottom. The Prophet Noah (pbuh) told them to bring it all to him, beans and whatever there was. They poured water over it and boiled it up. And the result was ashure. What they ate on the last day. When the bird returned with an olive branch in its beak, they said, “Alhamdulillah, the waters have withdrawn.” Then they opened the covers and descended to dry land.
Someone may have 1 trillion, of which he spends 500 billion. Someone else has 100, of which he spends 90. He earns more merit than the person with 1 trillion. The poor man’s service is not the same as the rich man’s. The rich man has, but the poor man does not. But he spends though he has nothing. The rich man has, and he gives part of that. But what the poor man gives is more acceptable. But of course we must help our brothers in all ways, masha’Allah.
Surat al-Nur, 31:
“Say to the faithful women that they should lower their eyes and guard their private parts...” in other words, they should not enter into sexual relations with unlawful persons. “...and not display their adornments – except for what normally shows – and draw their head-coverings across their breasts.” In other words, what can I say? By the law of Allah, this comes from intense local pressure. “Such-and-such a teacher said,” they say. The other person does not want to be left all alone, so he agrees and follows the crowd. “…and draw their head-coverings across their breasts …” There is no logic in what you are saying. If you have a head covering and it is big enough to be waved about like that, then it will hang down over your breasts. They do not have it all wound up on the top of the head and held there with pegs. “Let them cover their breasts,” Allah says. “Darabe”, “let them cover up”. The women who go round topless today, literally topless, on the beaches and other places, used to wander round in the markets like that in those days. Almighty Allah says in this verse, “…and draw their head-coverings across their breasts …” So women cover their breasts, and that is that. Whatever they cover them with. If they are unwilling or under pressure, there is nothing I can say, they are only human.. They may not do it. There may be many, even hundreds of reasons. They may find it stifling. They may not do it for that reason. I repeat, they do not abandon the faith, they are merely lacking, and that is all. They have merely committed a sin regarding that topic. Tomorrow I will set it out word for word using the original Arabic. I have no other alternative.
Surat al-Ahzab, 32-33:
32- Wives of the Prophet! you are not like other women provided you have piety. Do not be too soft-spoken in your speech lest someone with sickness in his heart becomes desirous. Speak correct and courteous words.
33- Remain in your houses and do not display your beauty as it was previously displayed in the Time of Ignorance* Establish prayer and pay alms and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah desires to remove all impurity from you, People of the House, and to purify you completely.”
Allah is saying that, “You are not like any other Muslim women. You cannot be free like they are. You cannot behave as loosely as them. Your positions are different. They can behave loosely and freely. But you are the wives of the prophet and the mothers of believers. That is why when you speak, you must speak from behind a veil.” A covering from top to bottom. They could never see the wives of our Prophet (pbuh). There was no question of seeing their faces. As for their speech, Allah says; “Do not be too soft-spoken in your speech lest someone with sickness in his heart becomes desirous,” as they speak from behind their veils. “Speak correct and courteous words,” He says. But look, this is unique to the wives of the prophet alone. It does not refer to women believers. There is no question of them speaking behind a veil. The wives of the Prophet (saas) could not go out. “Remain in your houses,” says Allah. When they rode camels they were completely covered, they traveled in a kind of box, the wives of the prophet. But that is specific to them. There is much wisdom in that, alhamdulillah. But women believers can walk around outside so everyone can see them. There is no problem with that.
Surat al-Ahzab, 59
59- O Prophet! Tell your wives and daughters and the women of the believers to draw their outer garments closely round themselves. This makes it more likely that they will be recognised and not be harmed. Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Look, they ignore this, verse 59 of Surat al-Ahzab, “O Prophet! Tell your wives and daughters and the women of the believers,” he tells his wives, his own wives, and his daughters. “and the women of the believers…” What does that mean? All the Muslims in the world. “…to draw their outer garments closely round themselves” Tell them to wear their outer garments. Look, Allah explains the reason, “This makes it more likely that they will be recognised [as chaste and free]” so they will be recognized as free and not mistaken for slaves, “and not be harmed…” If people think they are slaves, they will go and try and flirt with them. This is the best thing in order for them not to be made uncomfortable in that way, Allah says. Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
It cannot be ignored. Look the Arabic word “jilbab” here up in the dictionary and it means a full covering. The word headscarf does not appear in the Qur’an. It is explicitly a full covering. But some ladies get high blood pressure if they wear it, and cannot do so. Some may be allergic to it. Some wear it because of family pressure, and some are not allowed out without it, and that is a different matter. May Allah forgive them, but that is the truth, insha’Allah.
(Mr. Adnan Oktar explains the false conception of fun in the religion of ignorance)
I see on Fashion TV and the like how they always put their tongues out and make signs with their hands, behaving in a crazy way. They are obviously not happy. Someone who is having a good time will not do that. They turn the camera toward the girls and they all start shouting as if to say, “We are having fun!” They are drenched in sweat, while some of the men stink of wine. Don’t let them start me off. Of course the men will stink of sweat. “We are having fun!” they say. Their heads are spinning, they have been poisoned. They shout all day there, jumping up and down. But what fun is that? Mafia types to your right, a pervert on your left, a murderer behind you. Thieves and who knows what else around you. How can you have fun in that environment? A person seeks security first of all. How can anyone have a good time where there is no security?2012-03-12 11:50:30
