The 7 June, 2004, issue of Newsweek magazine, which enjoys a global readership, carried a notice titled “A Call to Our Muslim, Christian and Jewish Brothers,” introducing Harun Yahya"s books Only Love Can Defeat Terrorism, Islam Denounces Terrorism, TERRORISM: The Ritual of the Devil and A Call to Unity. The notice also contained introductions to the Harun Yahya home page and his Islam Denounces Terrorism and Union of Faiths sites. The full text of the notice read:

WE ALL BELIEVE IN THE SAME GOD; WE LOVE THE SAME GOD; WE PRAY TO THE SAME GOD; AND WE WORSHIP THE SAME GOD. WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF ADAM, NOAH AND ABRAHAM. THE SAME PROPHETS APPEAR IN THE QU"RAN, THE OLD TESTAMENT AND THE NEW TESTAMENT AND WE ALL LOVE AND RESPECT THEM.

SO, WHY ALL THIS TERROR AND CONFUSION?

All faithful and sincere Christians, Jews and Muslims must work together in harmony to help in the struggle against evil and evil-doers. This unity must be based on love, respect, tolerance, understanding, harmony and cooperation. The world’s situation is urgent; and we must avoid conflicts and arguments that divide us.

Old Testament: Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you, just as you say He is. Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts... (Amos 5: 14-15)
